I feel accomplished!
I carefully planned and scheduled to create the various assignment projects for the beginner and the advanced courses since October.
As you can see I had to demonstrate my skills with wovens, knits, pleats, darts, gathers, buttonholes, invisible zippers, etc. It was a fun challenge and I definitely learned a few new techniques. This isn’t a “learn to sew” course, but Meg (the teacher) has great instructional videos along with Burda patterns and resources.
The part of this course that I hated was the fact that the assignments were pattern specific in sizes 38-44. I practiced my drafting skills and drafted up all the patterns to fit my plus sized self with mixed results. I have pieces that fit fairly well, mostly well, and poor. The assignment dress was terrible for my figure. My husband called it my “sack of potatoes” dress. I wish the course had a regular and plus size pattern option for each assignment.
On a final note: the course includes a number of regular and plus sized patterns for personal and teaching purposes. I hope to plan a few workshops that are size inclusive soon.
